Five Things That Make Your Bedroom Better And Comfortable

Beddings

Your bedroom is one of the most valuable rooms in your home as it is the room where you spend the most time. You will want to make your bedroom not only sedate, but inviting to anyone you invite into this room. There are many options available when it comes to maintaining your bedroom. These include the colors painted on the walls, the bed position, and the furniture in the bedroom, floor coverings, lighting and objects that will prevent sleeping. The following are five things that make your bedroom better and comfortable:

Update the LinensBedroom

Purchase a new set of coordinated sheets, comforter and pillow cases to update the look of your bedroom. Look for soothing colors to make your bedroom a restful place for sleeping and unwinding, or choose a palette of three complementary colors that make you feel cheerful and good. A reversible comforter can give you more than one look. A white comforter with two or three different duvet covers also offers more options that you can change as you desire.

Lighting

Install a new light or add a ceiling fan with light. A fan can help save on cooling costs, and a new light can give the room a cozy feel. Consider adding a dimmer switch, too. If you don’t already have one, add reading lamps next to the bed for low-level lighting.

Window Coverings

If your room gets too bright in the morning, add room darkening shades. However, don’t leave windows looking unfinished with only blinds. Curtains or a simple swag give the room a finished, sophisticated look. Look for curtains that are simple and coordinate with your linens.

Accessories

Put the laundry, shoes and clothing away in a closet or dresser. For large bedrooms that lack coziness, create separate areas for sitting and reading and for sleeping by placing area rugs in each area and arranging furniture in separate groupings. Clear off surfaces and place simple accents around the room in groups of three. A few books, a plant, one or two decorative pieces will give the room a peaceful and intimate feel.

Fresh Paint

If you know how to interior paint and have the time, it is an inexpensive way to give your bedroom a fresh, new look. Select a color that picks up the background colors of the fabrics in your linens and window coverings. If you want to give your room a distinctive look, consider a textured paint technique or a faux finish.
